PostSubject: Death freaks me out. How should I handle it?   Fri Jul 11, 2008 12:39 am

Thoughts about death can be scary and confusing. However, as children of God, death has no power over us, and we can be assured of eternal life in Christ Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Even when we are sad about the death of someone we love, God will comfort us. Jesus said in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will comforted." It is okay to feel sad when thinking about death or the loss of a loved one. Even Jesus cried when his good friend Lazarus died. Consid that death can be positive, in that it puts our lives into perspective. Turn to God with your thoughts, sadness or fear, and allow Him to comfort you.

He said to me,"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. " Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.That is why, for Christ's sake's I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
